The Museum for the Preservation of Elevating History
The Museum for the Preservation of Elevating History explores the practice, art and discipline of vertical transportation throughout history.
It looks at the origins of lifting, key inventors, and the major components of modern elevators, among other aspects of the industry.
The museum continues to unearth valuable files and collections from companies, associations and families. One exhibit revealed the lives and work behind the Stigler Company, which pioneered passenger-lifting machines in Europe at the turn of the 20th century and later in South America, Asia and Africa.
