The Wright Brothers: The Invention of the Aerial Age
This exhibition covers the history behind the true originators of aviation, the process of inventing the first successful airplane, as well as what happened the century after the famous brothers came up with the Wright Flyer. Read up on the Wright family history before the airplane idea took off. Continue with the timeline to see how the brothers went from the bicycle business to airplanes, and then find out the aftermath of the Wrights' milestone. Make sure to check out the Artifact Gallery to see their helpful gadgets (like a stop watch), or more personal possessions (like school report cards). You can also listen to over 15 selected songs from the Aerial Age, such as "My Little Loving Aero Man" from 1912.
