Man-eating Lions of Tsavo
In 1898, nearly 140 railway workers were killed and eaten by lions while building a bridge over the Tsavo River in East Africa. This exhibit from the Field Museum of Natural History describes the lions and discusses possible reasons that they attacked humans. Be sure to check out the photo gallery.
